The Battery Show Europe

The Battery Show is Europe’s trade fair for advanced battery technology, taking place 15 - 17 May 2018, in Hanover, Germany.

More than 300 manufacturers and service providers from across the supply chain, including Bosch, BMZ, Valeo and Continental, will display thousands of design, production and manufacturing solutions, including battery systems, materials, components, testing and recycling, for industries including automotive, utilities, renewable energy, grid, power tools and electronics. This free trade fair is an opportunity to source the latest energy storage solutions, helping to reduce costs and improve the performance of applications.

Why Hanover?
In 2018, the expo and conference is moving to Hanover, Germany, in the state of Lower Saxony. The city’s automotive industry plays a crucial role in the state’s economy and the region is bursting with opportunity for the e-mobility and energy industry. The city of Hanover, is one of Germany’s thriving locations for automobile construction, with 10 million vehicles built in its state of Lower Saxony every year. And with this growth, demand is increasing for suppliers of batteries and other e-mobility components.
With 120,000 employees and 700 automotive supplier companies in Lower Saxony, the region is the production home to global players including Volkswagen AG and Continental AG, Johnson Controls, Robert Bosch GmbH, ZF Lemförder and Wabco.
Lower Saxony is also Germany's frontrunner in renewable energies, with around one-third of Germany's oil and just over 90 % of its natural gas produced in the region. This is in support of Germany's ‘Energiewende,’ or Renewable Energy Revolution; the transition by Germany to a low carbon, environmentally sound, reliable, and affordable energy supply.
